Download the PM demo, and see how it works for you. Having said that, some people are satisfied with the scan function. Most of the power users feel that it's faster to enter the piece new, than to spend time searching for and correcting the scan errors.

Scanning is iffy, no matter which program you use. If you transpose the notes via Mass Edit, the chords do not transpose. PrintMusic will transpose chords, as long as you do it by changing the key signature. Although I think SongWriter will also do what you want, not many people use it, at least according to what I see here on the forums.

I would suggest an upgrade to PrintMusic. Since it seems noone else is going to answer, I will. It did most of the above, maybe all, but I wasn't crazy about chord naming conventions/restrictions and IIRC, time signatures were limited.

What, specifically, are you missing? Are you sure you were using NotePad in your class? I can't imagine spending an entire semester learning how to use it! So I'd like to know if it's possible to download 2007.Īs far as I know, there are no features in NP2007 that are not in 2009. Of course I was dissapointed when a whole plethora of features were missing from 2009.

Seeing the more recent 2009 version was available, I purchased that, thinking I'd get a more improved version of such an excellant program. After the semester ended, I figured I'd get it on my computer at home. Having taken a semester course in the use of Finale Notepad 2007, I became attracted to its functions and ease of use.
